“We want to establish an internal proposals team”

Geo Networks

The Background:

In the past, dark fibre infrastructure network provider Geo Networks, gained most of its revenue through negotiated deals but the company decided it was time to establish its own proposals team.
Bid Pro Quo had formerly worked with Geo Networks to win phase 1 of the Welsh Assembly Government’s FibreSpeed project (a fast, world-class fibre-optic network) and a communications project for the National Grid. Geo Networks was then looking to win phase 2 of the FibreSpeed project.

The Challenge:

As there were no systems in place and Geo Networks had very little experience in the competitive dialogue tender process and bidding, Bid Pro Quo’s job was to build the proposals team from the ground up.

The Solution:

Due to the previous successes delivered by BPQ, Geo decided we would be the right consultancy to help it establish an internal proposals team.
We informed and supported the commercial team, assisted in recruiting the right staff and training, and coached the newly appointed team. In addition, BPQ implemented best practice through defining, developing and improving systems, processes and collateral from scratch.

The Outcome:

Geo Networks were ultimately awarded phase 2 of the FibreSpeed contract. Thanks to BPQ’s ongoing coaching and mentoring, their proposals team felt thoroughly supported. The fibre solutions optic provider is now able to manage its own tenders based on its experience in building and operating with the Welsh Assembly Government.
